Security Fixes And General Code Fixes
In total, Adobe Commerce (Magento) 2.4.3 includes 33 security fixes and platform improvements to enhance overall security – with many of these fixes also being backported to earlier 2.4.2-p2 and 2.3.7-p1 versions.
Primarily, these issues focus on protecting against Code Remote Execution (CRE) and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities mostly involve hackers getting access to the Admin page, so it’s best to follow Adobe Commerce (Magento) security best practices to protect your store.
In addition to these security fixes, hundreds of issues have been fixed in the Adobe Commerce (Magento) 2.4.3 core code, including issues related to product bundles, CAPTCHA, CMS content, cart and checkout, and more.
Overall Infrastructure Improvements
Updates have been made to the core infrastructure to support better performance, reliability, and functionality in a variety of different parts of Adobe Commerce (Magento), including
- Customer Account
- Catalog
- CMS
- OMS
- Import/Export
- Promotions and Targeting
- Cart and Checkout
- B2B
- Staging and Preview
Additionally, support for PayPal Pay Later is now available in stores that include PayPal. This feature lets customers pay for purchases in bi-weekly installments, rather than paying the entire amount up-front in one transaction.
Platform & Performance Enhancements
On the technical side of things, Adobe Commerce (Magento) 2.4.3 includes a lot of platform enhancements to prepare for the deployment of PHP 8.x, including updates to the Core Composer and Laminas 3.4.0.
Additionally, it has now been tested to be fully compatible with Redis 6.0.12, and the KnockoutJS library has been upgraded to v3.5.1, the latest available version.
On the performance side of things, Adobe Commerce (Magento) has been built with enhancements that will reduce indexation time for Product Price and Catalog Rule indexers, including the ability to exclude websites from a certain shared catalog or product group.
Adobe Stock Integration v2.1.1
Adobe Stock integration has been updated to version 2.1.1 to provide a more seamless experience while buying, adding, and managing stock photos, videos, and more. This feature is available to both Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source users.
Page Builder For Magento Open Source
Previously, Page Builder was only available for paid Adobe Commerce plans. This is a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editor that allows store owners to quickly build out new pages of content without touching a single line of code. You can learn more about Page Builder in this past blog from 121eCommerce. Now, Page Builder is fully available for all users, including those using the free Magento Open Source platform.
In a blog post announcing the decision, John Stockton, Adobe Senior Director, Commerce Product, wrote that “the ability to rapidly develop and deliver new content is now…a requirement for success. It’s for that reason that we will be making Page Builder available to all our merchants, across both Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source.”
PWA Studio v11.0.0
PWA Studio is used to develop Progressive Web Apps to provide an app-like experience on mobile Adobe Commerce (Magento) storefronts. The latest release, v.11.0.0, includes a variety of bug fixes and improvements, as well as a few new features.
One feature to highlight is the completion of Wish List functionality, which first began in PWA Studio v.9.0.0. A variety of other accessibility, performance and functionality updates have also been added in this version.
Updates To Vendor Developed Extensions
Along with the all-new Adobe Commerce (Magento) 2.4.3. version comes major updates to a few different vendor developed extensions, as follows:
- Amazon Pay – Enhancements to the placement of Amazon Pay buttons on products, carts, and checkout pages, as well as improvements to decline messaging and password link reset messaging.
