since launching their website.
Ohio Power Tool has been in business since 1983, and specializes in sales and factory authorized service for all major brands of pneumatic tools, electric tools and hydraulic equipment. When they first reached out to 121eCommerce for a site build, they were experiencing several issues with their website that they wanted to address. From a user experience standpoint, their website was not responsive and mobile friendly, had poor search functionality, had no layered navigation, and a poor B2B experience.
In addition to several UX issues, Ohio Power Tools’ website was built on an ASP.NET storefront that was outdated, and not competitive with other technologies. While their website was highly customized, it was difficult to make changes without relying on a developer to complete them, which drove costs of maintaining the website up.
Worst of all, during peak traffic times, their old website was prone to crashing.
121eCommerce was able to get Ohio Power Tool’s new Magento website launched, and helped significantly improve their site structure, along with its reliability:
“One of the biggest issues we had with the old site is that it would crash whenever it experienced a high volume of traffic. 121eCommmerce was able to provide our website with a great structure, which resulted in our ongoing success — we recently ran a Cyber Week promotion, and it’s the most successful sale we’ve ever had.”
In addition to the uptick in reliability, the overall increase in user-friendliness to their website has helped produce more sales and happy customers.
Since launching their website, Ohio Power Tool’s revenue has increased by over 50%, and they are experiencing much more flexibility and functionality after moving over to Magento. We were also able to launch their new site at 5% under their budget. Ohio Power Tool had worked with a previous vendor to help with their eCommerce website, and while their rates were lower, it took twice the amount of time to have updates completed. Ohio Power Tool was so impressed in working with 121eCommerce they mentioned they “would never leave or work with someone else again.”
